India publishes new legislation

India has published a completely new piece of legislation to regulate food contact materials and articles. The new law will become effective on July 1, 2019.

China RoHS confirms assessment

The conformity assessment system of China RoHS has been brought into practice. All products listed in “The Standard Achieving Management Catalog (First Batch)” manufactured and imported after Nov 1, 2019 shall comply with the Implementation Arrangements.

2021: SCIP Database

In the context of the Waste Framework Directive, ECHA will establish the Substance of Concern in Products (SCIP) database in 2021. Suppliers of articles need to provide information to this database on those articles which contain Candidate List substances in a concentration above 0.1% w/w as from January 5, 2021.
